Administration
The
members of council are representatives of the parish.
They share responsibility with the Pastor for the spiritual and temporal
administrations of the parish. Their
purpose is to guide and assist the parish in the accomplishment of the parish
mission and to be a voice by which all parishioners can make known their
concerns and needs to the Pastor. They are also to establish clear and concise
goals for the needs of the parish. And
they are to coordinate the projects and activities of all groups or
organizations in the parish.
Every
person 18 years or older who is a member of the parish is eligible to serve as a
member. There are 6 elected members
who serve 3-year terms and 5 appointed members who serve.
The appointed members are from the Deanery, Finance, Spiritual Life,
Ladies Org., Faith Formation and Maintenance. Two new members are elected each
year.
The faith formation commission is
responsible for developing and recommending policies that promote the
educational mission of the parish of the religious education programs from
childhood to adulthood. Elected members of the Faith Formation Commission work
together with the pastor and coordinator of religious education to assess the
implementation and effectiveness of these policies, and serve as representatives
of all parishioners. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month and
are open to all parishioners.
The
finance commission advises the pastor and Parish Council on the financial
affairs of the Parish. The commission makes recommendations concerning the
overall maintenance of the parish buildings and grounds, parish financial
reports, the yearly budget, fund-raisers for the parish and the setting of
salaries for parish employees. This
is a group of men and women selected according to their expertise to aid in the
administration of the parish goods. The
group considers all suggestions presented by parishioners concerning the parish.

Spiritual Life
Liturgy
Committee
This
committee is responsible for the planning and preparation of the liturgical
celebrations in the parish. It seeks
to provide a meaningful and prayerful liturgy through the rituals, music, art
and environment, ministers, assembly, etc. It
also promotes the growth in spiritual life by facilitating devotions, retreats
and other forms of spirituality. The
meetings are held every two months and are open to all.

Mass Team Leader
A
Mass Team Leader (Person/Couple) in needed for Sunday morning Mass and another
person/couple for Sunday evening
Servers
have a special role in our community worship to assist and enhance our praise.
The girls and boys, grade school and high school age, of the parish are
invited to participate in the liturgy by involving themselves in this ministry.
Training is provided for those interested.
Music
/ Choir
Music
is an essential part of our worship experience.
Music ministries realize this importance and are willing to work with
dedication toward the fullest possible expression of sung prayer.
Our parish community benefits from the efforts of its music ministries in
true celebration of God present in its gathering.
The members of the Choir and Musicians provide an opportunity for
meaningful worship at liturgies throughout the year.
If you have a desire to sing or play a musical instrument and are willing
to share your talents, we welcome you to join.
Greeters
Greeters
and Ushers are ministers who welcome their parish family and visitors.
They are visible signs of the love we should show to those with whom we
celebrate. Greeters/Ushers welcome
the worshippers and make them feel at home, seat them, help in the collection
and offertory procession, and are helpful in providing information about the
parish. Families are invited to sign
up for this ministry.
The
Proclamation of the Word involves more than reading stories.
Lectors present to the congregation the very word of God.
They proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other liturgical celebrations.
Teens and adults are encouraged to accept this ministry.
Training is provided and reading schedules are mailed out ahead of time
to prepare.
Gift
Bearers
Gift
bearers present to the priest the water and wine that will become the Body and
Blood of Christ and our weekly offering at the Consecration of the
Eucharistic
Ministers are those men and women who help the priest distribute Communion at
Home
Communion Distributors is an important part of this ministry.
It involves carrying Holy Communion to the sick/housebound members of the
parish family. This ministry is most
rewarding to both the minister and to the person he/she serves.
Not only do you bring the Eucharist, but also you may be the only visitor
the house bound person sees in a week. This
is truly a work of mercy.

Children
During
the weekend liturgies the children from age three to kindergarten celebrate the
Liturgy of the Word. This allows the children to hear God’s word with greater
meaning because the program is designed with a variety of learning methods.
Teachers and helpers are needed to work with this age group. Training is
available.
This
is an opportunity to share your faith and guide the youth in their growth as
Catholic Christians. Catechists are responsible for the preparation and teaching
of the classes. Helpers are asked to be present and to assist the main
catechists in the lesson. Catechists
seek to promote the knowledge and love of God as proclaimed by the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, and to foster that true discipleship in the
The
Youth ministry seeks to foster total, personal and spiritual growth of the youth
and to draw them to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of
the faith community. The activities are planned with the youth.
This ministry enables junior and senior high students to develop into
mature adults.
Adult
Catechetical Team (ACT)
This team provides learning opportunities adapted to the different
needs and levels of interest for the members of the parish community to grow in
their relationship with God and each other. This ministry will assess the needs
of adult education and faith formation. In collaboration with the director of
religious education they will design appropriate programs. This group meets
every two months.
Baptismal
preparation classes are held four times during the year. Parents are asked to
attend the class before baptism.
RCIA
is a journey of faith with the Christian community of those desiring full
membership in the Catholic Church. This process starts in September and lasts
until Pentecost. The participants learn about the Catholic Church through the
liturgy, prayers, personal and group reflections, lectures, study and apostolic
work. Each candidate is provided with a sponsor and walks through the process
according to one’s decision and need. Parishioners are invited to participate
in the various ministries of RCIA: sponsors, hospitality, prayer partners, and
catechists.
Retreat
held annually in the Spring of the year. This is for the high school to young
adult group.
