"Faithfulness of Christ, faithfulness of priests" is the theme of the Year for Priests, announced by Pope Benedict XVI, which began with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The Holy Father will close the year on June 19, 2010, presiding at a "World Meeting of Priests" in St. Peter's Square.

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the death of St John Marie Vianney, the Cure of Ars, Pope Benedict XVI has proclaimed him as patron saint of all the priests of the world. This year is an invitation to support, encourage and pray for all priests.  It is also a great opportunity to pray and work for an ever-needed increase in vocations to the priesthood.

Each week we will list the names of 7 of our Archdiocesan priests to pray for in particular. Hopefully by the end of the year we will have prayed for all of our priests and seminarians in a special way.

-PARTIAL INDULGENCE daily prayers-

Please pray five times the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be, in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to ask that priests maintain purity and sanctity of life. This week pray for the following 7 of our Archdiocesan Priests in particular (1 each day of the week):

Damien Dietlein, Stanley Drongowski, John Duncun, John Mark Ettensohn, Jonathan Fassero, Adrian Figuerolla, Thomas Fox
